Lol, I'm supposed to be helping my mom mark assessment books, but I just had to post this up.
In this sec 1 book English assessment book, there was this reported speech exercise that is so bloody stupid I have to share it with you:

~"Can I bring my lamb to school, Miss Wong?" asked Mary. "No," said Miss Wong, "that's against the rules."

~"Hey, Baa Baa, do you have any wool?" I asked. "Yes, Sir, three bags full," he said.

~"Row the boat down the stream," ordered David. "Gently please, we're tired," said his men.

(this is the best one so far, I think) ~"I've twinkled for a thousand years; I've stayed up here above the world till I'm bored to death and everyone thinks I'm a diamond. I want to go down!" lamented the star.

~"Well, I'm going away, but I'll be back some other day," said the rain.

~"Hey, who put me in the well?" shouted Pussy.

~I should have never followed you up that hill," groaned Jack. "It's your own fault," said Jill. "You went and fell down."


Lol, it's like they ran out of ideas so they just used nursery rhymes, haha.
